Sound designer/composer Mark Bartels joins 90°W
Since his arrival at 90°W from the legendary Chicago Recording Company (CRC) last April, Mark Bartels has established his niche in St. Louis. Combining his sound design talent with seasoned skills as a musician and composer, Mark has been laying down tracks for Momentum, Cannonball, Adamson, CheckMark, Busch Entertainment, JUMP Company, Propaganda, Stealth and Waylon.
Mark has also been commissioned by Osborn & Barr and WestWind Agency to create original scores.
While at CRC, Mark designed and mixed TV & radio commercials for Anheuser Busch, McDonalds, Oprah Winfrey Show, Sears, Kraft, US Army and Marlboro, among many others.
In addition, he has worked on feature films and TV shows, including “Cars” (Pixar), “Chicken Little” (Disney), “The Dark Knight”, “Hairspray” and “Prison Break – Season 1” (20th Century Fox).
Mark’s surround sound mixing suite provides instant access to 80,000 sound effects, 400,000 music cuts, digital patch links to voice talent around the country and a vast array of music composition tools.
Since taking up residence in Lafayette Square, Mark has enjoyed walking to work every day as well as frequenting the many restaurants, shops and bars in the area. If you can get him on a piano — he goes there willingly — you’ll discover he wails some righteous jazz. And if you start talking beer or Chicago, make sure you’ve got a few minutes to spare.
