Artificial Intelligence has made a significant impact on our industry at an incredible pace. The tools to write, create, and problem solve seem to evolve on a daily basis. Is it perfect? No. Will it be? Strong bet. So, the team at 90°W wanted to find a fun way to embrace the technology and put it to some practical use.
Senior Editor, Michael Colasardo, gave ChatGPT a summary of 90°W’s accolades and capabilities, and asked it write a song about, well, us! The initial results were wonderful, but it needed an extra touch, something human. And what is more human than sharing a pint and a singalong at an Irish Pub? With some tweaks to our prompt the AI rewrote the lyrics and provided a common musical chord progression for that genre. Then, our wonderfully talented musical director, Justin Tapp used the chord progression to compose our song.
With 90°W’s staff providing the reference, lip sync, and questionable choreography (j/k), Michael then collaborated with Creative Director, Scott Whiteaker and animator Agustin Garamendy to generate the visuals. More on this below.
So, it is with great pride that we present this as a testament to our talented team and the technology that drives us into the future. And, to quote our Irish friends – we certainly had a ‘craic’ bringing this to life.
That was fun, right?!?! Needless to say we learned ALOT in this process. AI tools are in abundance, but no one application can do everything. So, our team had to rely on a multi-step process, featuring a plethora of AI tools to make this so special.
