The Objective
Creative Elements
The Chihuly In The Garden campaign features two distinct spots, each with its own creative elements. The daytime spot includes a playful 3D bee animation interacting with one of Chihuly’s glass pieces, which is seamlessly integrated into existing footage for a fun twist. The second spot, shot by the 90 Degrees West team, showcases the beauty of the exhibit at night.
Visual Style
The visual style is centered around close-up shots that capture the intricate textures, colors, and craftsmanship of the glass pieces. Wide shots showcase the grandeur and scale, offering a broader view of the exhibit. Lighting enhances the transparency and vibrancy of the glass, while subtle ethereal effects create a sense of magic. The videos are immersive, drawing the viewer in, allowing them to feel as though they’re in the garden.
Timeline
For the daytime spot, footage was received on March 27th, and ingest occurred the same day. Once everything was organized in the project, Senior Editor Scott Whiteaker put everything together, following the storyboards provided by Advertising Savants closely. He worked with Visual Effects Artist, Vlad Sarkisov, to composite the 3D bee animation, and the final TV version was delivered on April 25th.
For the nighttime spot, filming took place on July 11th, followed by ingest and organization the next day. Once again, Scott Whiteaker took the lead on the edit, and the final version was delivered on August 7th.
