The Objective

Animated Commercial for a Party of the Ages

Teaming with our friends at Purina, we had an absolute blast creating this commercial for Friskies. One thing that was non-negotiable; we needed to create epic parties, hosted by the most iconic felines that any pa-purr-azzi would love to photograph.

The Creative Approach

The narrative revolved around the “totally made-up history” of Friskies Party Mix, presenting cats as trailblazers in the world of parties—from the grandeur of 1920s speakeasies to the high-energy vibes of Studio 54. Each vignette featured dynamic, motion-controlled shots paired with a lively soundtrack, creating a snapshot of a party scene frozen in time.

The Animation

Every cat wasn’t just a character—they were a full-on time-traveling icon, each decked out in a signature style that fit their moment in history. To make it happen, we joined forces with some of the most talented artists in the game, collaborating every step of the way to ensure every frame was packed with personality, energy, and era-defining details. The result? A visually stunning, high-energy celebration that takes the party to the next level!

The Live Action Set

When our stylish party hosts were dialed-in, a studio session with some incredibly talented actors and dancers added all the extra vibes we needed. After the live-action shoot, helmed by Brian Cummings and lensed by Bill Winters, was in the can, the footage was handed back to 90°W’s Creative Director, Scott Whiteaker, who oversaw a team of compositors and animators to add the finishing touches. Audio mix and sound design by our own, Justin Tapp, was the pièce de résistance that these Party Cats needed to make the tabloids.
