The Objective

Position Remus Bourbon as a Premium Choice, Backed by a Century of Bourbon-Making Expertise

In the realm of creative challenges, there are projects that stand out for their ambition and innovation. The tale of Remus Bourbon's brand history and its infamous founder is one such endeavor that captivated Story Brand Agency's imagination, and the 90 Degrees West team was honored to help.

The Work

Beverage Commercial

Creative Elements

The continuous shot approach allowed the camera to move fluidly through different eras along a meticulously designed tabletop set. Each carefully chosen prop played a dual role—representing both the time and the brand—ensuring that storytelling was woven into every detail. A single actor moved through the scenes, requiring strategic wardrobe changes using tearaway garments. Motion graphic overlays were designed to mimic vintage newspaper articles and advertisements from the time.

Props

Central to this project’s success was the art of prop selection. Each item had to hold deep significance not only to Remus Bourbon’s brand identity but also to the era it represented. We allowed the props to tell their own stories, weaving them into the broader narrative, and creating a tapestry that exuded authenticity and charm.

On-Set Execution

By maintaining a single unbroken shot, we could transition between different periods and craft a captivating narrative within the confines of 30 seconds.

With a single actor traversing the scenes, we faced the challenge of outfitting him in era-specific attire at three different points on the tabletop. The wardrobe team’s creative prowess came to the fore as they ingeniously crafted tearaway garments. The actor could swiftly change outfits, like a quick-change magician, while the camera continued its journey down the tabletop, making for a smooth experience.
